Principal’s Welcome
A warm welcome to the website of the German International School/Deutsche Internationale Schule Dubai (DISD). I became principal of the DISD in the beginning of the school year 2017/18. I have been aware of its excellent reputation for quite some while. During the course of my career, I was deputy principal of the German School Toulouse, principal in Brussels, Doha and Alexandria. In Germany I was active as the principle of a High School in Baden-Württemberg and the Black Forest.


I am happy to perceive DISD as an excellently lead German school abroad with state of the art premises. The main reason is the competent and engaged staff. The professional educators and administrative staff create fully positive and supporting environment for our students. This makes the DISD an excellent choice for families, who want to offer their children the quality of the German education system. From Kindergarten groups with mixed ages, the German curriculum (Thuringia) and the renowned German International Abitur Exam/ Deutschen Internationalen Abiturprüfung (DIAP) – your children will be fully prepared when studying not only in Germany but everywhere in the world. This year, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai (KHDA) recognized the English level of our students as outstanding and furthermore, our Arabic classes for non- and native speakers have received multiple awards, of which we are very proud. All in all, through the high academic quality and a diverse student body, which learns from another, our students are perfectly prepared for the globalized work environment.
