About Rugby School
Rugby School has been shaping confident, compassionate, and forward-thinking individuals through an exceptional approach to education. Established in 1567 by Lawrence Sheriff, the institution has built a global reputation for delivering world-class education, nurturing generations of scholars, innovators, leaders, and changemakers.
A defining moment in Rugby's history came in 1823, when pupil William Webb Ellis challenged tradition by picking up the football and running with it, inspiring the creation of an entirely new sport. More importantly, it reflected a mindset of courage, originality, and independent thinking—values that continue to influence the school's educational philosophy today.
Bringing this prestigious legacy to the UAE, Rugby School Dubai combines distinguished British traditions with the dynamic vision of the Emirates. Recognised among the leading providers of British education in Dubai, the school embraces its guiding principle, "The Whole Person, The Whole Point," ensuring that every child thrives both academically and personally.
As one of the premier British curriculum schools in Dubai, Rugby School Dubai offers a balanced educational experience that blends academic excellence with outstanding pastoral care. Through challenging programmes in academic excellence, science education, sports programmes, performing arts, music education, leadership development, community service, and an enriching House system, pupils are empowered to discover their strengths, broaden their perspectives, and become purposeful future leaders.
For families seeking a premium school in Dubai that prioritises character, confidence, and achievement, Rugby School Dubai provides an inspiring environment where every pupil is encouraged to find their voice, unlock their potential, and prepare for success in an ever-evolving world.
